Can a person get a type of chemical burn from using regular cleaning product?

I cleaned my bathroom with Easy-Off BAM - wore a mask, wore gloves and even a poncho for crying out loud due to the fact that I didn't want to get any of that stuff on me. Warning label states that you shouldn't get any on your skin. 30 minutes later I was down and out with headache, sore throat and severe body ache - still feel that way today. Anyone have any answers to this. My throat burns and my lungs feel like they would if I had developed bronchitis overnight. First time I've had this happen to me.
