What is the closest probe to sun ?? and what distance it is from the sun?

The German made Helios (I or II, I forget) came slightly within Mercury's orbit to the sun. Also, it has the distinction of being the fastest man-made object, of course being propelled by the sun's immense gravity. By now both HI and HII are far away from the solar system. The sun makes for a good sling-shot.
