Why did Ireland stay Catholic while Scotland and England changed to Protestants and the Church of England?

Hey, I'm getting ready to write a ten page research paper.. can anyone help me with why Catholicism survived in Ireland in the 16th Century while Scotland and England underwent reforms? Thanks!!! :)
