How to make a candy coating like skittles?

i had a new candy idea, and i would like to know is there a certain way to make a candy coating like skittles candy's coating or anything really similar? and the simplest way u can explain it, and all. im only 14, but my dream job is to become an inventor, so im coming up with ideas. :)
