Need Help Making New Friends.?

I am just starting middle schoolth is year in 6th grade and everythings going great.... you know the usual locker and that kinda stuff but i wanna make some new friends. This kid in my homeroom Jake, his locker is next to mine ans we talk and stuff, i just want some advise on how like i could get to know him better you know before i like invite him over to me house. Thanks!
