How do I get my 1996 CD-ROM of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego to work on Windows Vista?

I can't get the old version of Quicktime to install on my computer as part of the installation process, causing it to stop the install in the middle. Is there a way that I can change the compatibility with my computer so it will work as if running on a Windows 95 computer?
